I hope you'll take that as a cue to present your own thoughts on the issue, as promised in your "Next: What's up with Gus?" teaser.Cabritohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06413035026045238243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268346.post-72338727174180055092008-11-25T16:26:00.000-06:002008-11-25T16:26:00.000-06:00I thought our strategy for winning was for Frerott...I thought our strategy for winning was for Frerotte to launch one as far as he can with a minute to go so that we can draw a pass interference penalty on the 12-yard line and let Longwell chip it in. At least until the Jags game, that appeared to be the "winning strategy". Unfortunately there is no guarantee that WE won't draw the penalty (Big oops in the Bucs game), but other than that flaw, it's been working. This was an unsatisfying win, one that without the gifted 14 points would have been a nailbiter to the end. The score would have been 10-9 with the Vikes trailing in the 4th, and one can easily imagine Chili playing close just to get a FG, followed by the Jags taking their final drive to answer with a FG of their own to win.

It seems Chili's strategy *relies* on the other team making mistakes. Bad teams do, and we can usually beat them. Good teams do not, and thus we struggle.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12806227899329846128noreply@blogger.com
